This week’s featured wine is the Subsoil Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 from Mercer Estates Winery in Washington State. #WineWednesday
Over 20,000 years ago, the Missoula Floods deposited rich sediment deep into the subsoils of Washington State’s renowned Columbia Basin. In each bottle of Subsoil Cabernet, you experience the unique character and bright, ripe fruit from the Horse Heaven Hills, showcasing the rich history and terroir of the region. The 2021 vintage opens with enticing aromas of ripe red fruit, blackberry pie, and dried cranberries, accented by hints of brown sugar and warm baking spices. On the palate, powdery tannins lend structure while maintaining elegance, leading to a long, lingering finish.
