Jerry, the executive chef and owner of The Daily Dish and The Dish & Dram., was born in Ephrata, Pennsylvania and has a Mennonite background. His parents owned Hollinger Market, a grocery store that focused on locally sourced and natural foods long before the concept really existed.
He grew up with a love of cooking and after working as a private chef and then a line cook and sous chef for Jean Michel in Bethesda, he started his first business, a boutique catering company. He enjoys making wholesome food that is reminiscent of family dinners surrounded by his parents and six brothers and sisters. His shepherd’s pie and stews have become favorite specials at The Daily Dish.
In 2016, Jerry opened The Dish & Dram in Kensington, MD. The Dish & Dram reflects their love of food, drink and travel and reminds them of their favorite places to eat around the world.
